Bluetooth developments

There is a very interesting thread on Schachecomputer.info regarding the new Certabo Bluetooth module.

The link is here: https://www.schachcomputer.info/forum/showthread.php?t=5739&page=21

Perhaps Pietro will divulge a few more details re price, availability,  etc

I have also being using my Vittoria board with the new Da Vinci software very stable especially with the 2.75 inch pieces and some good new features in the update. Really liked the option to continue from a position, after the CertbaOdroid froze and I could continue the game using the Da Vinci

Not sure if the Bluetooth module would make my Da Vinci redundant.

Hi Steve thank you for asking

Ok yes i update the units are available we finished to take pictures and will put on sales soon tomorrow the latest for order and ready delivery the cost will be 69€.

Not it's defintitively making redundant as it's different device it's replicating the board on wireless but it does not have any engine feature neither the power to proprerly run analysis etc like PC DaVinci etc.. It's replacing the physical connection to computational unit running on much less power requirement too.

It will also cope with DaVinci so you can keep the DaVinci plugged and play with board on different location or wherever you like as you can control and set the parameters with spares queen. It will work like remote control for the DaVinci unit too like it will on other device PC, Mac etc. This will be extended to CertaboDroid too in coming weeks so you can separate physically the phone from the board.

Now we are releasing the module and version 4.1 for PC main software and 5.0 Online software this means you can use also can play online via BT, later on on coming days we release the DaVinci 3.0 which will support the BT and Mac version too, and finally as said in some weeks the new Certabodroid release to cope with the module.

I remain available for additional info

All the best and stay safe

Pietro

Will you also release a 32 bit version of Certabo Online 5.0 software?

Cheers,

Chris

My Certabo Bluetooth module arrived today.

Set it up using my PC and Vittoria board.  Played on Certabo with no issues. Tried a few of the commands using the queens as a remote control device, the few I tried worked well.

A couple of questions  / queries that I am sure Pietro will respond to and may be useful for others.

I presume the Bluetooth contains a Raspberry Pi 3 Motherboard ?

I normally have to use / charge my Raspberry pi 3 for my Golf launch monitor with a 2 to 2.5 Amps supply. Therefore I use the Power block that I used on my Launch monitor no issues. Is there a minimum amperage for the Powerblock for the Certabo Bluetooth?

I also have a Raspberry pi 3 Power supply (2.5 A) is it OK to use this with the Certabo bluetooth module

Hi Steve

Thanks for the feedback!

Yes there is a small Raspberry module but it's not Pi3 it is PiZeroW.

Those modules are less powerful  but also require much less power. The board itself takes just above 0,4A and the module about 0,1-0,2A.

So there is not actually request of minimum power we tested with 1A power bank the smallest you can find and it's more than enough.

All the best

Pietro
