...and Bryan, I like the lazy susan idea. Can you detach the top circular piece of wood? At 39cm its too big for my smaller board and I'm thinking of just using the swivel mechanism attached directly to the board.

There are two options you could do. (1) Just turn it over as the base plate is 17cm wide. (2) Just saw the top plate into a 37cm square.

I actually bought just a Lazy Susan bearing from here which I fixed it to a couple of pieces of 6mm MDF

Hi Bryan

Thank you for your cool Lazy Susan project, sorry to tell we won't necessarly need any more 🙂 we implemented flipping board option in the online gaming software. So you can flip the side having black on bottom. Joking apart probably Lazy Susan will be still more comfortable and faster then flip pieces but you will tell.

We will be releasing the Online version 3.0 in few days it  has improved led speed, flipping option and support Chess24 too.
