Raspberry 4 Certabo Software
Quote from LETRA on July 7, 2020, 5:50 pmHello, the download page only shows version 2.9 for Raspberry 3. Is this the latest version of the software? Can I install it on Raspberry 4 model B and have the same features as the Da Vinci computer without the wooden box?

No the version 2,9 is supported till Pi3. for the Pi4 we have a special release of 3,1 which will upload on the website.
The version has added time + increment control compared to the 2,9, but there is no support from our Remote Desktop app which works till 2.9".
Anyhow for Pi4 you may download the DaVinci image so will be even better https://www.certabo.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/06/DaVinci-1.0-May-2020.zip
For some details about display have a look at this thread https://www.certabo.com/certabo-forum/topic/raspberry-pi3-2-9-image-not-booting-pi3-b/

Quote from LETRA on July 8, 2020, 4:57 pmHi, Pietro. Thank you very much for your answer. I read the post and downloaded the 3.1 software. I have two questions to ask:
What version of Raspberry OS are you based on to make Da Vinci? This is important to know if I will have drivers available for the screen.
Can the screen be any size? I bought this one: https://www.waveshare.com/product/raspberry-pi/displays/lcd-oled/5inch-hdmi-lcd-with-bicolor-case.htm 5 inches, 800x480 resolution, but I have some doubts about if I will have enough power for the board and screen. Also if the Certabo applications will be seen correctly in a bigger resolution.

DaVinci is based on Raspbian Buster, the 5" is ok we tested up with a 7" and as long you use genuine power adapter is ok no particular issue with power.
As for resolution we have three resolution and the system automatically will use the most appropiate for the screen i think the 5" may go fullscreen too.
You can also run in window mode if you prefer do not want the fullscreen. Just open the screen.ini file and put window instead fullscreen
All the best

Quote from LETRA on July 18, 2020, 12:19 pmPietro, I've tried to grab the image several times and it still doesn't boot. Now it's frozen here. Maybe the 3.1 image is corrupted.

The version i linked is the version of DaVinci and this is running on both Pi3 and Pi4. Can you share the link where you are trying to download the 3.1" release? As we officially have up to 2.9" on the website we had link to a version of 3.1 before we moved the website but i'm not sure if the link you are using is correct.
Anyhow if you downloaded the DaVinci at link we share it must work with Pi4. What you have to check is
1- Check power supply is ok Please use official power supply for Pi4 if you use a normal power supply like phone charger for example it may not provide enough power and it can stuck during boot.
2- It looks you have a board connected to the Pi or other usb evice while you boot try to boot without anything attached as in case you do not have much power it may anyhow boot.
3- It load by defaul driver for 3,5" touch screen, if you are booting with 5" display it may be that there is conflict and this can stop the boot too. Try to detach the display and boot without any display. Then access via SSH and install correct drivers.
4- The image shall boot up in about 30-35 secs. Please check the micro sd you are using is Class10 U1 or higher as slower SD can take much long to boot up even some minutes...
Do not think about other at the moment but please try the above and let us know.

Quote from LETRA on July 18, 2020, 1:53 pmThank you, Pietro. I've tried the boot quite a few times. The image I downloaded is from the link you provided in a previous message https://www.certabo.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/06/DaVinci-1.0-May-2020.zip. This last picture is of the boot without touch screen, keyboard and mouse, only board and connected by mini HDMI to a TV. The card I use is Samsung EVO Plus and the power supply NorthPada 5V for Raspberry 4. Everything looks fine. The image of Volumio for example boot and works without any problems.

Quote from LETRA on July 18, 2020, 4:41 pmPietro, I was able to connect via ssh and then enable vnc, but VNC Viewer only shows this screen without the system icons. When I restart the desktop appears for a second with the icons and then only the image of the Certabo wallpaper, without being able to interact with the mouse or with key shortcuts.
