Suggestions with Certabodroid

Certabodroid is a great app. I have a little problem with the engines that sometimes do not respond, but where I would like to focus is on the connection to Lichess. It works really well but could be improved in future versions with some functionalities:

- Choose color of the pieces at random.
- Choose a rank for opponents (ELO min-max)
- Notify when an opponent disconnects (now to find out, I have to open the lichess application and see what is happening)
- See the remaining time of both players at all times.

Thank you for your suggestion yes the notification at point 3 is definitively missing we shall add some kind of notification. This is missing also on pc version.

Point 1 well yes can be done but we did not put as you may not have enoguh time to place the pieces before starting so it maybe be bit too risky and confusing as you shall wait to start the game and put 64 pieces acordingly in 30 sec and eventually move 🙂

For point 4 we have tried but apparently this is updating at any request and not continuosly we should try to send faster Api request to see if can update that fields more often.

Point 2 we shall check ( we already have a list of updates we need to so adding that too)

We shall pick up Certabodroid again in April for new release and add the BT support too.

Anyhow other cool stuff is coming 😉 we have been bit busy with new development everybody will like (we think 🙂

To play with random color, wouldn't we be able to physically turn the board and use the pieces in their initial position?

I can't wait to try that new version!

Hi Nacho

In the Certabodroid it does work bit differently from the other version. There is not a proprer calibration to be done before, but the calibration is done at every game so you would need to wait for the color and then place pieces accordingly as by default the Lichess will assume on bottom your color which could be white or black and you do not know in advance.. We could check if selecting random game, by default we can have the white be on bottom so you can set the board before and eventually rotate, but I'm not sure need to check...

It was just a suggestion. With the Citrine (or with the Millennium) I chose to turn the board or put another chair in front of me. It was the fastest way to be prepared for a random color selection. I understand that an automatic calibration every game complicates it. Thanks in any case Pietro.

Another little issue which should be solved:

If I make a move very short time after the engines move (when I make a move faster than the Led´s switch off), the board doesn´t show the next engine move. This is really disturbing during openings.

In chess for android this works without any issues. So it´s an issue of Certabodroid and not the board.

And of course TAKE BACK......
